Now Hiring General Laborers

Leer Wood Products has immediate openings for full-time general laborers to work in a variety of capacities in the Westby, Wisconsin, sawmill. No experience is necessary, and training is provided. New hires typically begin working as lumber pilers. As lumber pilers, they learn about different wood species and wood grades. They also sort, stack and pile lumber for the sawmill. The entry-level, lumber piler job often leads to other job opportunities like sharpening saws, debarking logs, and cutting sides of board as a lumber edger. 

Now Hiring Foresters/Timber Buyers

Leer Wood Products has immediate openings for full-time Foresters and Timber Buyers in Wisconsin. Advanced degrees and and/or several years of experience are required. Foresters work with woodland owners to discuss forest management and timber harvest plans. They prepare estimates, survey the property and harvest boundaries, mark the timber to be cut, issue a contract, file permits, and carry out other duties related to a timber sale

Now Hiring Log Truck Driver

Leer Wood Products has immediate openings for full-time log truck drivers. Requirements include a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) and experience with heavy trucks. Log truck drivers transport logs from timber harvesting sites to our sawmill.
